Pacific | Me

By Rachel Turney, Ed.D.

I think of myself melting in the rain.

I stand there for minutes that

become hours collected.

I am washed away into

the gutters,

which lead to the sea.

Now, I am part of the ocean.

When today started,

this isn’t how I thought it would end,

joining my salinity with the Pacific.
